The Sonoma coast may be the most breathtaking area of California. From the inland valleys, wind down the vineyard lined road, and cross old bridges towering above the Russian River. This area is where some of the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards meet the coastal redwoods before continuing westward to the Pacific Ocean. The river meets the Pacific in the town of Jenner where a collection of wildlife awaits your camera including seals, pelicans, and blue herons.

Healdsburg is the center of northern Sonoma County.  The charming square is covered with great restaurants, tasting rooms, and boutique shops.  From Healdsburg it is easy to access three valleys, each specializing in varietals specific to their terrior.  Russian River is known for award-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.  The old vine Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc of the Dry Creek Valley are exquisite.  Alexander Valley is ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

COOL CAVES

COOL CAVES

In many parts of the country, caves are reserved for bats. In wine country, you’re more likely to find wine barrels in caves. Winemakers have long known that the pristine, protected conditions of these underground caverns offer an ideal cool and humid climate for the wine-aging process. Wine tasters, meanwhile, have discovered the other cool factors of caves – touring and sipping. Many local wineries open their caves to visitors offering sit down tastings or guided walks, and some invite you to taste straight from the barrel. Bats, however, aren’t invited to the party.

    Amazing Day w/ Ryan & team!! What can I say. It was top notch. Literally felt like we were celebrities with the private tastings that Ryan set us up with. Ryan and staff were absolutely fantastic to deal with. They asked us what wines we liked and customized a personal itinerary for us based on our preferences. This is the real deal.     The Best Way To See Sonoma! We had a great experience with Cali as our driver in a very comfortable Ford passenger van. 3 fantastic days visiting wineries in Sonoma and Napa! Cali is extremely knowledgable and filled us in on the history of the valleys while driving us to our destinations.     Amazing Tour! Such a fun day! We booked a tour with Callie last minute and he put together the perfect day for us. He was super personable and knowledgeable, remembered everyone’s names, kept is on schedule. Nice clean car, interesting conversation..     Napa winery visit We used Ryan and his drivers for our recent visit to Napa for 3 couples. Cali was our driver for the two days we were in town. He was very professional, kept us on track with our scheduled winery appts and even was nice enough to run and grab some wine from a winery we didn’t have time to stop at on this visit while we were at tasting. We will for sure be using them again for our next visit. I actually just gave their info to another couple coming to town.

    Well planned and thoughtfully executed This was our second time using Ryan as our driver and we turkey had an amazing trip! He went above and beyond every detail was well planned, and thoughtfully executed. It made our trip effortless and easy. He took care of everything including tasting appointments, lunch, dinner reservations, even snacks & water in the car.     Wine country I have rode with Ryan and number of times now and he is an amazing driver. Very reliable and always timely. He is also very knowledgeable in the different areas of California wine country. He has helped me multiple times plan and schedule different winery visits depending on the area I wanted to stay in.     Even Better than the First Time! This is the second time I’ve used Private Wine Drivers and this was even better the second time around. Kali provides bespoke itineraries based on your preferences in terms of varietals, regions, views and overall experiences. This service is top notch where the hardest decision to be made is what are your wine/experience preferences.

    Would never go with another driver! I honestly think if we couldn't get Ryan for our next trip to wine country because he was booked, we'd reschedule for a time that he was available. He has always been so accomodating to our group of "always running behind ladies", and is so helpful with recommendations.     So convenient! My significant other and I had a lovely day in Napa with the help of the private wine drivers! It was our first time there so we had no idea where to go! I love dry white wines and my partner enjoys Cabernets and based on our preferences, a wonderful itinerary was made that really fit our taste. Our driver was so wonderful and picked up lunch for us as well as we didn’t want to stop for lunch. We had a great experience and would certainly use them again!!!

He was relaxed but kept us on schedule, showed us places we would have never known about, gave recommendations, was our personal photographer and even wiped dirt off our shoes!     Great choice for a special occasion Cali was our driver and he was great. He knew a lot about the Sonoma Valley and has been in the wine industry for years. We were on a trip celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary and it was really special. We went to Ledson, VJB for lunch, Arrowood and finished out the day at Repris which was amazing!! Having a driver who was also knowledgeable about the wine making process was really cool. We’ll be recommending private wine drivers to friends for sure!

    Awesome experience with Ryan My wife and I visited Napa, and were referred to Ryan. He made recommendations for our wine tastings, and provided us with a world class experience over the course of two days. We learned as much from Ryan in the car as we did in the wineries. His relationships with the different wineries allowed us to adjust our tasting times and maximize the time we had available. Do yourself a favor and call them when you want to enjoy wine country.

Such an amazing experience with him as our driver... he has great relationships throughout Sonoma/Napa that made for top notch tastings.     Best driver ever!!! I have ridden with Ryan many times over several years, as has my husband, for business and pleasure purposes. I have had different friends come with me over the years as well and they would agree with my sentiments. Ryan is extremely personable and is one of the few Napa and Sonoma drivers who really knows the wineries and has a lot of connections. He is always efficient in booking appointments and getting you to the places that match your interests. He is happy to tuck a lunch in if you need it!

    10/10 Experience Ryan was the best! He was incredibly helpful during booking/planning and was such a fun driver. He helped keep us on time for our scheduled tours and even made for a skilled photographer! The sprint limo we rented was really nice, full of snacks and gave our party plenty of space to get comfortable. We’ll definitely rent again next time!
